Prof. Dr. Alice Kirchheim becomes new jury member

The Institute Director of Material Flow Systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML) in Dortmund has been newly named to the committee.

Prof. Dr. Alice Kirchheim is a new jury member of the Logistics Hall of Fame. In early summer, more than 70 jury members from ten countries will vote on who will be inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame at the end of 2024 and who will be honored as "Logistics Leader of the Year". The jury members come from business, associations and politics or are media representatives or academics.

Prof. Dr. Alice Kirchheim took up her new position at IML on April 1, succeeding Prof. Dr. Michael ten Hompel, who has retired after 24 years as head of the institute. In recent years, she was a professor at the Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg. Alice Kirchheim studied computer science engineering. From 2013 to 2019, she held various positions in the sales of manual and automated logistics systems at companies in the KION Group. She then worked as a professor at Aalen University.
