Steffen Bilger Takes on the Role of Patron of the Logistics Hall of Fame
With Steffen Bilger, the German Federal Minister for Transport once again takes on the patronage of the Logistics Hall of Fame. This tradition underscores the importance of logistics in politics and society.
Ismaning near Munich/Berlin, August 10, 2026. Federal Minister of Transportation Steffen Bilger has agreed to serve as patron of the Logistics Hall of Fame. In doing so, he is sending a clear signal of recognition for the achievements of the logistics industry and its stakeholders.
Minister of Transportation Steffen Bilger: “Induction into the Logistics Hall of Fame means more than just a trophy or a certificate. It is a place in the history of logistics. The Logistics Hall of Fame documents the milestones of logistics worldwide and honors the achievements of the people who perform system-critical tasks day in, and day out yet are too rarely in the spotlight. They represent the capabilities and societal relevance of innovative logistics and are intended to serve as role models for future generations, encouraging them to forge innovative paths.”
The newly appointed Minister of Transportation has been familiar with the Logistics Hall of Fame for years. In 2021, he delivered a laudatory speech in Berlin honoring the founder of humanitarian logistics. In addition, as Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transportation, he contributed his expertise as a member of the jury.
The Logistics Hall of Fame honors individuals who, through their work extending beyond the boundaries of their own companies, have significantly advanced the field of logistics—through technical, strategic, scientific, or business achievements that have had a positive impact on a larger group of companies or institutions. Induction is decided by an international jury of more than 70 members in a two-stage, secret, database-driven selection process.
This year’s inductees into the Logistics Hall of Fame have already been selected and will be announced shortly. Their induction ceremony will take place on December 4 at the Hofburg in Vienna.
