Lynn C. Fritz Medal: Application phase is on
The application portal for the Lynn C. Fritz Medal for Excellence in Humanitarian Logistics is open again. Humanitarian and development aid organizations with completed, successful logistics projects can now apply for the medal on the Logistics Hall of Fame website. The medal is also intended to help draw the attention of potential donors and partners to the excellent achievements of the winners.
The medal will be awarded for the second time at the end of 2024 to humanitarian organizations and their partners for successful logistics projects at the annual gala reception in Berlin. In its first year, the medal was awarded to the US based organization International Medical Corps.
Applicants should note: The logistics projects submitted must have been completed with demonstrated results. Theoretical projects or ideas will not be accepted. Applicants should show why a project is innovative or sustainable, improves efficiency and serves as a model for the field of humanitarian logistics. Collaborative project involving several partners are encouraged. The results must not be older than three years. The simple application procedure is described online and can be completed in less than four hours on average.
In the first round of voting, an Expert Council nominates the projects that are presented to the international jury for selection. A nomination is independent of the origin, level of recognition or size of an organization. The decisive factor is that the project has had a lasting positive impact on the effectiveness of humanitarian operations and serves as a role model for the sector. Applications can be submitted free of charge in English and German until May 2, 2024, exclusively online at www.logisticshalloffame.net. The winner will be honored in Berlin at the end of the year.
