Gebr. Heinemann becomes network partner

The Hamburg family business Gebr. Heinemann is a member of the Supporters' Circle of the Logistics Hall of Fame. The trading company wants to set an example for the importance of modern logistics as a competitive advantage in the international travel retail trade.

"Just moving goods isn't enough for us. With our teams of experts, we want to develop innovations and set standards in travel retail logistics. The know-how and commitment of our employees is of central importance. We are modern by tradition in a familiar, collegial environment," says Marco Rebohm, Director Logistics.

"We share the philosophy of the Logistics Hall of Fame that progress and common goals must inspire people and fit in with our corporate culture," adds Martin Borscheid, Head of Operations.

Gebr. Heinemann SE & Co. KG is one of the most important distributors and retailers on the international travel market. The Hamburg-based company supplies international airports, airlines, cruise ships and border shops in over 100 countries with a constantly growing duty-free range of international branded goods, including perfumes & cosmetics, wine & spirits, confectionery and delicacies.

In addition, Gebr. Heinemann operates more than 340 Heinemann Duty Free & Travel Value shops, licensed brand boutiques and concept stores at 74 airports in 28 countries as well as shops at border crossings and on board cruise ships. Founded in 1879 by the brothers Carl and Heinrich Heinemann, the globally active family-owned company now has more than 40 million customers in the retail trade every year and employs 6,000 people. The global flow of goods is based on the two logistics centres in Hamburg-Allermöhe and Erlensee near Frankfurt, which are among the most modern in the international travel market.
