FERNRIDE CEO Hendrik Kramer named Logistics Leader of the Year 2024

Kramer, CEO and co-founder of FERNRIDE, has established an innovative automation solution for the mobility of commercial vehicles on the market that allows trucks to be moved without a driver. FERNRIDE combines autonomous driving technology with human intelligence in a hybrid system known as “Human-Assisted Autonomy”. Like a control tower in aviation, remote operators monitor several vehicles simultaneously and can intervene if necessary.

The jury of the Logistics Hall of Fame, made up of 70 renowned personalities from business, science, politics and the media from 13 nations, explained their decision: “Hendrik Kramer's entrepreneurial spirit has created the basis for a safe entry into autonomous, electric driving. His initiative contributes to the energy transition and helps to increase the profit margins of logistics companies, alleviate the global driver shortage and improve the safety of employees in logistics, while supporting the logistics industry in its transformation to future-proof operations and processes.” Another decisive factor for the jury's vote was that the approach has the potential to fundamentally improve the value of the driving profession.

The Logistics Leader of the Year Award honors pacesetters and future leaders in logistics. It honors personalities from the transport and logistics sector who are currently acting particularly successfully for their companies or have set a trend-setting impulse. The focus of the founder's award is on topicality and the benefits for the company as well as innovative strength, sustainability and entrepreneurial change. The award is presented by the Logistics Hall of Fame and donated by Hamburg-based STILL GmbH.

The award ceremony will take place as part of the Hall of Fame's annual gala reception on December 5 at the Federal Ministry of Transport in Berlin.
